Description.
White Hetian jade carved in the shape of a flattened vase, the body of which is decorated in bas-relief with a scene depicting a carp and a crane in flight amidst clouds and plant motifs. The neck is flanked by two handles carved in the round in the form of archaic dragons. The separate lid repeats the cloud motifs and is topped by a rounded knob. It rests on a carved wooden plinth. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).
