Description.
Sculpture carved in white jade with a milky, translucent appearance. It depicts Guanyin standing on a double base in the shape of a lotus flower, a symbol of spiritual purity. The figure wears a robe with wide folds that fall naturally to partially cover the base. His right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra, a gesture of protection, while his left hand, descending, is arranged in the varada mudra, a symbol of compassion. His serene facial expression conveys stillness. The carving has smooth, detailed lines, especially in the folds of the robe and the floral contours of the base. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
