Description.
A figure carved in milky-white jade, depicting a mythological beast reclining. The creature appears in a relaxed position, with its front legs extended and its head turned to one side, generating a dynamic play of curved lines. The details of the face stand out, with prominent eyes, a pronounced muzzle and small ears, as well as the stylisations on the back and legs, with engraved scrolls in the archaic style. The carving is precise and restrained, leaving large smooth areas that exalt the purity of the jade. The piece rests on a textile base lined with brocaded silk and edged with velvet. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
