White jade cup-shaped vase, Qing Dynasty

Awarded For. 9.500 €
Lot 56.
Description.

A beautiful and elegant white jade vase in a uniform pale celadon tone, with a wooden stand. The central body of the vase is in the form of a circular box, entirely decorated with a floral carving with geometric and cloud motifs. The neck is in the shape of a tall goblet, also decorated with the same details and ending at the top in a tapering, closing inwards at the upper mouth, which is oval and perfectly carved in the shape of flower petals, like an altar.

From this, a beautiful, slightly curved handle, in the form of three-armed floral branches with their sides carved in oval relief towards the inside, holds the central part of the vase. On the opposite side of the vase is a beautiful floral carved spout detail that holds a delicate handle, which in turn holds a beautiful jade ring.

All of this rests on an elegant oval-shaped reverse-cup foot, which starts from the central circular box, with upper detail that surrounds the entire base, as does the carving of the rest of the piece, fitted to a beautiful reddish wood base. Fully carved pedestal. Qing Dynasty (1644 and 1912)
