Description.
White jade sculpture depicting a reclining water buffalo, carved with soft lines and rounded volumes that accentuate the animal's serenity and docility. The head is turned to the side with a peaceful expression, while the legs are folded under the body in a resting posture. The curved and spirally detailed horns, together with the stylised mane, demonstrate a refined technical treatment. The white jade has a homogeneous milky hue, with natural brown veins visible in certain areas. The polished surface has a smooth and shiny finish. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
