Description.
Crafted from white jade of great purity and translucency. The piece features a complex openwork circular design in which a sinuous dragon and a stylised phoenix intertwine to form a disc. The carving is notable for its meticulous attention to detail, such as the scales, feathers and powerful expressions. It shows a patina resulting from ageing. Eastern Han Dynasty (25–220 AD) or later.
Size: 5.5 x 1.8 x 5.6 cm
Weight: 67.02 g
