Description.
White jade with a glassy polish. The piece is flattened in shape and carved with the representation of an insect perched on an elongated fruit, possibly a pod. The insect is shown in detail through fine incised lines that define the striated wings, folded legs and prominent eyes. Qing dynasty (1644–1911).
