White jade pendant with a polished glassy finish. The piece is circular with an openwork design featuring two intertwined mythological creatures: a phoenix and a dragon. The masterful openwork carving and fine bas-relief detailing the plumage, scales and sinuous tails of both figures in a play of organic forms are particularly noteworthy.
