Description.
Creamy white jade with subtle areas of dark patina. One side features a mask of a deity or spirit with an angry expression, almond-shaped eyes and engraved features. The surface has a silky polish and patina due to age. Shang dynasty (approx. 1600–1046 BC) or later.
