Description.
A carved white jade ritual vessel with an ovoid body and elongated neck, topped with a matching lid. The piece is richly decorated in high relief with stylised taotie motifs and symmetrical reliefs on the body. On the sides of the bowl are two sinuous dragons with stylised bodies that climb from the base to the shoulder of the bowl, integrating with the handles in the form of rings. The jade is homogeneous in tone, slightly translucent, with small natural veins. The carving work shows great technical skill. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
