Description.
A finely carved white jade sculpture depicting a group of clustered pomegranates, worked in high relief with great attention to detail. The rounded, smoothly polished fruits are accompanied by branches and leaves in elegant movement, some of them with marked veins and others outlined in shallow incision. One of the pomegranates shows its interior open, revealing some of the texture of the grains, while others are decorated with precisely carved honeycomb and floral motifs. The base is complemented by a custom-carved wooden stand. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
