Description.
A small sculpture carved in white jade with subtle reddish flecks, depicting three male figures in a festive pose, the “three immortals” (Fu, Lu and Shou), symbolizing happiness, prosperity and longevity. The figures are grouped in a pyramid-shaped composition, the central one being the largest, with rounded, happy facial features, up-do hairstyles and wide traditional robes with pronounced folds. One of the figures holds a vase in her hands and another raises a ruyi sceptre, elements charged with auspicious symbolism. The back has an ochre patina in scattered areas. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
