Description.
An oval-shaped seal carved from white jade of exceptional purity. The flared body features a lower frieze incised with archaic scroll patterns, whilst the surface is engraved with meticulous characters from an imperial poem. The elliptical base bears a profuse, archaic-style seal impression; the piece is preserved in its original case lined with brocade silk, bearing the label ‘乾隆五十三年收’. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
