Description.
Square seal, carved from pale celadon-toned white jade. The handle is sculpted in the shape of a tortoise, with its head raised and its shell finely detailed with an incised hexagonal pattern. It displays areas of ochre and brown patina. The seal matrix reveals the incised characters “大劉之印”. Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) or later.
