Description.
An elegant bottle of traditional snuff, consisting of two rounded, overlapping bodies ending in an elongated mouth, emulating the morphology of a gourd or “hulu”. The exterior is adorned with reliefs of curling ruyi clouds, among which flutter five small bats with outstretched wings. It stands on a small carved wooden base. It shows patina from ageing. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
