White jade snuff bottle “Monkey and fruit”, Qing dynasty

A snuff bottle made of white jade of uniform hue with subtle natural inclusions. It has an oval body with gently rounded rims, set on a flat base. One side is decorated with a delicate relief carving depicting a monkey perched on a fruit-bearing branch. The other side shows, in relief, a small poem. The silvered metal stopper is topped with a red-coloured stone cabochon. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
