Description.
An exceptional devotional triptych screen comprising three large rectangular jade panels in a whitish celadon hue with rich ochre veining and areas of natural discolouration, joined by hinges and gilded metal frames. The obverse depicts, in bas-relief, the Buddhist Pure Land triad: Amitābha Buddha in the centre wearing a swastika pendant, flanked by the Bodhisattvas Avalokiteśvara, holding a lotus stem, and Mahāsthāmaprāpta, all standing on lotus-shaped pedestals amidst auspicious clouds beneath flaming halos. The reverse features an extensive engraved Buddhist text, topped by quadrangular seals. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
