This set consists of a carved vertical panel of dark wood with a rectangular base reinforced by curved lateral supports decorated with openwork geometric motifs. The main panel frames a slightly translucent, milky-white jade carving in the form of a devotional niche. The carving depicts the bodhisattva Guanyin, seated in lotus position on a base of lotus petals. The body is covered by a robe with stylized folds that falls down to cover the legs. The face shows serene, symmetrical features, with a high headdress and elongated ears, framed by an architectural structure sculpted in the form of a pagoda. The pagoda towers above the figure, with a multi-tiered roof and windows. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
