It supports a translucent white jade plaque of horizontal rectangular shape, finely carved in bas-relief on both sides. One side depicts a mountainous landscape scene with two elderly figures in conversation under a pine tree, accompanied by a servant and surrounded by rock formations. On the reverse is a more serene scene with flowering peony branches emerging from a cliff. The jade carving is precise and smooth. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
