Description.
A monumental square-based seal carved from dark-coloured wood, accompanied by its case lined with yellow silk. The top features a complex scene depicting a guardian lioness protecting her cubs amidst undulating waves. The front bears a handwritten fabric label stating ‘Acquired in the twenty-ninth year of Kangxi’, whilst the base bears a bold seal impression. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
