Sculpture carved in the round from jade, depicting a robust mythical beast in a resting position, with its body resting on sturdy legs and its head tilted to one side, looking straight ahead, revealing piercing eyes and sharp fangs. The jade is yellow with reddish veins. Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). or later.
