Description.
Carved yellow jade, with a slightly greenish hue, featuring areas of brown or blackish patina resulting from its age. The piece has a square base crowned by the image of a Bixi beast, with the body of a tortoise and an upright dragon’s head, with a fierce expression. The base of the seal bears characters inscribed in seal script. Song Dynasty (960–1279) or later.
