Description.
Carved yellow jade, covered with an intense patina of ochre, reddish and greenish tones. It has a rectangular base, on which stands an upright ox, schematically carved, with sturdy limbs, sharp horns and fine incised archaic-style reliefs, both on the animal and around the perimeter of the base. There are incisions in the lower area. Shang dynasty (approx. 1600–1046 BC) or later.
