Description.
Crafted from honey-yellow jade with areas of patina in shades of ochre and reddish-brown, a result of its age. The exterior is entirely decorated with reliefs of stylised Taotie masks, featuring fierce expressions and large almond-shaped eyes, alongside curling cloud motifs (yunwen). The polish has a waxy sheen, retaining marks from the hand-carving tools. Warring States period (475–221 BC) or later.
