Description.
Carved pale yellow jade vase with lid, pear-shaped body with narrow neck and flared base. The lid is simple and topped with a sphere. The decoration shows the central part of the body engraved with a simple scene of elongated bamboo, and a long poem on the opposite side, all framed by rectangular panels of relief fretwork. The shoulders are adorned with two openwork handles in an archaic style with scrolls and hanging rings. The piece rests on a carved wooden base. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
