Description.
Green-hued jade with areas of weathering in shades of white, ochre and reddish-brown. The piece has the classic ‘C’ shape, with the body curving towards a prominent snout. The head is characterised by large, circular eyes in relief and triangular ears. It has a hole for hanging. Hongshan culture (c. 4700–2900 BC) or later.
