Large-format, hand-knotted oriental rug with a classic Mahal-inspired design. This Ziegler-style hand-knotted wool rug is characterized by its classic Persian-inspired design adapted for Western markets, featuring a distinctive palette of softened and washed colors. The large central field, in an ivory or sand beige tone with a delicate abrash effect, presents an open and spacious design where stylized floral motifs, large-scale palmettes, and fine branching patterns in terracotta, ochre, and soft blue tones are symmetrically distributed. The entire design is framed by a prominent main border with a terracotta or tile-red background, decorated with alternating large elliptical cartouches and floral rosettes in light tones, flanked by smaller borders ornamented with simplified geometric and floral motifs. It has a clean finish around its entire perimeter. Ziegler style. Includes a certificate of origin label on the reverse.
