Description.

Splendid figure of the image of an armed militant from the time of the Republic of Communist China; pre-dating the present People's Republic of China, of the Communist Party. At this time a section of the Chinese military were known as the Military Branch of the Young Communist Party, People's Liberation Army.

We can see in this magnificent zitan wood carving the proud uniform with the stars on the chest, the military shirt with Mao collar, the buckled belt holding the typical gun, with a rectangular holster, typical of this period, and of course the distinguished military boots with rope braiding on the top.  The figure's face and hair are carved with slight Western features, although it is clearly visible, since the Communist Party had to be seen abroad as universal.
