Description.

Pastel on paper. 19th-century Spanish school (attributed to the Romantic and Historicist movements of the first third of the century), notable for its technical delicacy and intimate atmosphere. The piece draws direct inspiration from French models of the Empire period. Her dark hair peeks out from beneath the headdress in the form of defined curls at her temples, a style typical of the early decades of the 19th century. Notable is the white headdress covering her head like a veil or scarf, finished at the forehead with a fine lace band embroidered with meticulous detail.

Size: 40 x 30 cm; Size with frame: 43 x 33 cm
