Ancient carved agate ‘Dzi’ bead

Carved agate ‘Dzi’ bead (千年老珠), elongated cylindrical with a widened centre and slightly rounded ends, with a transverse perforation. The piece is made of intensely brown agate with areas of honey and greyish tones. It is decorated with a series of concentric circles. The surface shows significant patina and wear due to ageing.
