Oil on canvas. Despite the two-dimensional nature of the surface, the artist achieves a rich tactile quality. He alternates fluid brushstrokes that evoke the sky or haze with areas where the oil paint takes on greater body and texture. This textural contrast accentuates the duality between the heaviness of the earth and the lightness of the wind. Signed “B. Guttmann” in the lower left corner. Signed, titled, and dated on the reverse.
