Blue and white porcelain vase ‘Courtly scenes’, with Jiajing seal

Globular porcelain with a short neck, decorated in underglaze blue. The main scene shows figures in a garden, surrounded by trees, rocks and clouds; framed by a floral band with lotuses and scrolls and panels with floral motifs. The base bears the seal 大明嘉靖年制.
