Carved jade bead, Hongshan culture

Carved jade bead, made of greenish jade with a reddish and ochre patina. The piece is globular with flat ends, decorated with natural veining. It has a longitudinal perforation for suspension on a gold braided cord. Hongshan culture (approx. 4000–3000 BC) or later.
