Carved jade figure ‘Frog’, Zhou dynasty

Jade amulet, carved from a stone veined with green and brown tones. The surface is decorated in bas-relief with the representation of a frog or toad in an archaic style, with large circular eyes and a body defined by scrolls and spirals. The piece has a large central perforation. It shows patina and wear due to ageing.
