Description.
Pendant in the shape of a cicada carved from reddish-brown jade, featuring a symmetrical body and wings defined by fine curvilinear incisions. The eyes are rendered in relief with engraved spirals, and the thorax and wings are decorated with geometric motifs. This type of figure is associated with funerary contexts in Liangzhu culture, where the cicada symbolizes immortality and spiritual transformation. The surface shows patina and wear consistent with age. Liangzhu culture (c. 3300–2200 BCE) or later.
