Carved turquoise ornament, Qing dynasty

Carved turquoise, sky blue in colour with subtle ochre veins. The piece has a flattened shape, with two elongated sections decorated with intertwined archaic scroll motifs in low relief. At the top are two cartouches, in the centre of which is a medallion bearing the characters ‘吉’ and ‘祥’. The design is completed by a perforation at the top. Qing dynasty (1644–1911).
