Elephant ivory

It is very important that our members know that all ivories, both carved as carvings, we put on our auction have been carefully reviewed and studied by our experts, requesting all necessary information to determine that these pieces have not been obtained illegally and meet all necessary requirements and Soivre Cites animal protection legislation. In the case in question antiques you would be exempt from the prohibition referred to in the preceding paragraphs worked specimens acquired before the entry into force of the Regulation, ie before 1 June 1947. The competent authorities indicate that in this if CITES certificate is required, all our lots of old ivories are accompanied by a certificate of Guarantee earlier origin to 1947. There are a number of exceptions to this prohibition it is that it can be demonstrated convincingly that the specimens were acquired or introduced into Spain before January 1, 1986.

Currently, in Spain, you can not sell ivory pieces without CITES documentation, except as indicated above.
