Jadeite figure of ‘Hotei’, 20th century

Milky white carved jadeite with lavender hues and green, brown and black veins. It has the morphology of the smiling Buddha ‘Hotei’ standing, with a prominent body and joyful attitude. The decoration is a detailed carving of flowing, draped robes, showing the figure holding a long mala.
