Large porcelain-headed doll, Germany, 20th century

Antique doll of exceptional format with biscuit head and articulated composition body. It has a sweet expression on its face with sleeping glass eyes, an open mouth with porcelain teeth and a wig of natural blonde hair. Incised marks on the back of the neck: mould numbers ‘129’ and ‘16’. It is dressed in its original period clothing.

Signs of age include craquelure, mainly on the feet and knees, as well as the loss of a little finger.
