Liuli bead ‘Flowers’, Tang dynasty

Extraordinary oval-shaped liulí (琉璃) bead. It stands out for its intense cobalt blue base colour, decorated with a floral motif. Each flower is framed by an elegant scalloped line and yellow drops. The ends are finished with a braided band in white and blue. Tang Dynasty. Shows patina due to age. Tang Dynasty (618-906 AD).
