Natural agate Dzi bead, Liao dynasty

Natural agate adorned with natural bands combining milky white, grey, bluish and dark brown tones. The piece has an elongated shape with rounded ends. It displays concentric bands and veins across the surface. It has a technical longitudinal perforation. The surface exhibits an antique polish with a glassy finish and natural wear that attest to its history. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
