Pasargad-style hand-knotted wool rug, 20th century

A large-format, hand-knotted oriental rug inspired by classic Persian designs. It features a terracotta-red ground with a subtle abrash effect, decorated with palmettes, stylised lotus flowers and plant motifs in shades of ivory and golden beige.

The central field is framed by a wide ivory-coloured border decorated with palmettes and floral motifs, accompanied by secondary borders featuring geometric and plant motifs.
