Porcelain container ‘Escudo’, 20th century

Glazed and polychrome porcelain on a white background, in the shape of a globular-bodied vessel with a wavy rim and two gilded side handles. It is decorated with the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom, surmounted by a crown and flanked by a lion and a unicorn. Beneath the coat of arms is the motto ‘DIEU ET MON DROIT’. The base bears a five-character stamp in red.
