Porcelain plate for export, ‘Shield’, 20th century

A circular polychrome porcelain plate. It is decorated with a British-style heraldic shield, featuring a royal crown and a crest with a rampant lion, flanked by two horses. The decoration is completed by a border of geometric motifs and a perimeter frieze in a ‘water wave’ style. The base bears a mark (大清乾隆年制).
