Rose family porcelain tray ‘Birds and Peonies’, with Guangxu mark

An oval porcelain tray with a flat base surrounded by a thick rim. It is decorated with beautiful ‘pink-family’ enamels on glaze, which form a central scene in which two small birds flutter among fine flowering branches, surrounded by beautiful and colourful peonies and chrysanthemums. The scene is framed by a border of vegetal motifs such as fruits, leaves, lotuses and various flowers. On the base is a six-character stamp in red enamel ‘大清光绪年制’.
