Round agate bead, Liao Dynasty

A carved and polished agate in the shape of a circular bead with a smooth surface. The piece is notable for its colors in shades of ochre, brown, and grayish green, with a subtle darker vein running across part of its diameter. It is suspended from a fabric cord. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
