Square porcelain plate, “Howard Family Crest”, 20th century

A square tray with bevelled corners. The centre is decorated with the coat of arms of the British Howard family (Dukes of Norfolk), surmounted by a lion; beneath the shield is a scroll bearing the Latin motto: ‘SOLA VIRTUS INVICTA’. The rim is adorned with floral garlands.
