Vicent Vidal Miñana (1958–2017) ‘Ladies’, 1979

Gouache on paper. A figurative composition depicting three figures.  The focal point is a blonde woman dressed in black, wearing a lace gown with sheer panels and chiffon sleeves. She has large white angel wings spread out and poses with her arms raised toward her hair, evoking a theatrical or fashion aesthetic from the late 1970s. The artist uses soft, directional lighting that falls directly on the main woman’s face and the pure white of her wings. Signed and dated “Vidal Miñana/79” in the lower right corner.
