Description.
Gold medal. The face of the coin features two dragons surrounding a column of four characters 御賜金牌, indicating "Royal Gold Medal", and at the top are the characters Da (大) and Qing (清) on either side of a sun. On the reverse of the medal, the same dragons are surrounded by clouds. Both sides have a geometric frieze on the edge.
This type of medal or coin was given as an imperial award for the construction of the Fuzhou Arsenal 福州船政成功 (1874).
