Description.
Jade of a soft ochre hue, carved in an irregular shape with rounded edges. It is decorated with a central incised image of the deity of the sun, known in Chinese culture as ‘Xihi’, with an archaic aesthetic, in which the deity, seated and with outstretched arms, has a large crown that emulates the rays of the sun. The stone shows patina due to ageing. Neolithic period (ca. 6000–2000 BC) or later.
